Julep June 2015 Subscription Box

I was fairly pleased with my June Julep Box. They have where you can change your curated box around if you want by the 20th of the month, and that’s what I did. I can’t really remember what was in the original box, but I wanted to try some of their other products, even though I love their nail color.

In the June 2015 Box I received:

  • Julep LUXE REPAIR SKIN SERUM
  • Julep DRY CLEAN Invisible Dry Shampoo
  • Julep Lipcolor in twirl ( they sent an email to me to claim this as a free gift last month)
  • Julep Nail Color in Fifi IT GIRL 4351 ( I used my Julep Maven points to purchase this)You usually get 100 points for each box you order, which you can use online at their store. The Nail Color I got for 400 points. You also receive points when you first sign up.
Julep LUXE REPAIR SERUM .60fl oz –Retail Price $28.00

 What it is:

A rejuvenating serum that can be used as a daily treatment or moisturizer for face, hands, or body.
What it does:

Treats skin to the nourishing benefits of Power Cell Complex™, a Julep-exclusive blend of age-defying, skin-boosting, ultra-hydrating ingredients:

Rosehip seed oil delivers essential nutrients to soothe and repair.
Malvaceae Lipid Extract™ improves barrier function, so skin retains moisture.
Green coffee bean oil invigorates skin & promotes cell turnover.
I normally have pretty dry skin, and I have been using this everyday in place of my daily facial moisturizer. I’ve also used it on my hands and elbows that were a little dry.  I really like this product. It really moisturized my skin and soaked in rather quickly. It doesn’t leave an oily feeling, and I was able to wear this under my make up. After a week of using this, my skin definitely feels more hydrated and is softer. It has a light smell to it, which for some reason reminds me of a cucumber scent??? Either way, it’s very light, and I didn’t mind it too much. It also worked well on my sensitive skin and didn’t cause any irritation or break outs. I give this a 4/5 stars
Julep DRY CLEAN Invisible Dry Shampoo–Retail Price $22.00
What is does:
This lightweight spray-on powder absorbs oil, adds body, and leaves no residue. Enjoy fresh, voluminous locks and an extra snooze cycle or two.
To use:
Shake well. Spray on roots and work through hair.

I have needed some dry shampoo, so I decided to order this. Honestly, I wasn’t that impressed. It did the job, but I prefer my dry shampoo to have a little bit of scent, and this really doesn’t have any. It did absorb oil, and was invisible. That’s one thing I don’t like about others I’ve tried; they leave that white powder you have to blend in your hair, and I usually end up getting it all over my clothes. For the price, I think I will stick to a different brand next time. I give this 3/5 stars
Full Coverage Creme lipstick in twirl–Retail Price $17.00

What it is:
A full-coverage lipstick that floats on and feels weightless.
Twirl:
Carnation crème
I’ve only tried this a couple times because it’s really not a color I would normally wear. It was very hydrating and stayed on pretty well. I’m just more of a lip-gloss type of girl. They have several other colors to choose from, and I think this would be good for someone who’s looking for a hydrating lip color that has staying power. I give this a 4/5 (granted you like lipstick and find a color you like).

Julep Nail Color Fifi IT GIRL–Retail Price $14.00
What it is:
Breakthrough Oxygen Technology powers this fast-drying, long-lasting nail polish to get nails healthy and more beautiful at the same time. Our proprietary 5-free, vegan-friendly formula also includes strengthening Hexanal and antioxidant green coffee extract. You’ll never look at nail polish the same way again.

What it does:
  • Dries ultra fast & allows 30% more oxygen to permeate the nail bed than other nail polish
  • Reveals stronger, harder & more conditioned nails in just two weeks (reported by 95% of women in an independent trial)
  • Extends the life of your manicure or pedicure

  • This is a super light pink color. It would be pretty to wear to a wedding or something. It did dry fairly fast, but I’m I’m not sure if it made my nails more conditioned or stronger because I’ve only worn it for a couple days. I got this with my Julep mMavenPoints that I had saved up. I probably wouldn’t buy this at the normal retail price, just because I think there are prettier colors out there that are much cheaper. I give this a 3/5 stars

Julep also likes to send a couple treats with their box every month and this month they send two Chupa Chups Suckers. My 4 year old snatched those up immediately. 🙂 Last month they sent salt water taffy that was really good.

As you can see I got some fairly decent products and I’m still pretty happy with this box.. I really like the Luxe Repair Serum, and considering that it alone retails for $28.00, and I got the whole box for $24.00!

If you would like to join Julep I would love for you to use my referral code here! Julep Maven Subscription
