Birchbox August 2015

Here’s What I Received This Month

IPKN Flash Cream Radiant Primer Full Size Retail: $28

This primer contains SPF 15 and can be worn alone or under foundation, My skin has been pretty wonky this pregnancy, and using this under my foundation has definitely helped. This made my skin look smoother and my pores less noticeable. It also has a soft shimmer to it, which I like.

Beauty Protector Protect & Oil Full Size Retail:$25.95

This is definitely my favorite thing from this month. This ranks right up there with Keratase Elixer Ultime that I got a few months back in another Birchbox and loved! This is much less expensive than the Keratase for the full size, but it also smells AMAZING

Honestly, I would actually love to have a perfume that smelled liked smells that good! I blow dry and flat iron my hair alot,  so I always use a heat protectant. This oil by Beauty Protector protects against UV rays, heat and breakage. It made my hair look smoother, shiny, and smells awesome!

LAQA & Co.Cray-Cray Retail: For A Set of 3 $20

This crayon can be used for lips and cheek color. I usually love multi use type products, but while I liked this as a cheek color, I didn’t like it as much on my lips. It made my lips feel dry, and was just a little brighter than something I would normally wear. They normally sell this as a set of 3 for $20 which isn’t that bad of a deal if you like the colors. There’s a peach type color that comes in the set that looks like something I might wear a little more.

St. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion Full Size Retail: $25

I couldn’t wait to try this. I love gradual self tanners. I remember in the past when self tanners were mostly all the same. You would apply it, make a mess everywhere, and then 2-3 hours you would come out orange looking like an oompha loompa, and have streaks everywhere. Thank goodness there are much better products now!
I love the concept and convenience of this product. You apply it while in the shower to damp clean skin, wait 3 minutes and then rinse with warm water. After using this 3 times, I would say I’m maybe 1-2 shades darker. It has given me a very light natural glow and I haven’t had any problems with streaks. This is definitely something I would consider purchasing in full size.

Oribe Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray Full Size Retail $39

Beach type salt sprays are not usually my friend. I have naturally wavy, dry hair. If  I don’t flat iron it, and wear it natural or curl it, then I still have to usually use quite a bit of hair oil to calm down the frizz. Beach type salt sprays tend to make my hair look frizzier and leave it feeling stiff.
This product has several different moisturizers but is still very light. It also contains a UV protectant. I still found this product to be just okay (for myself anyway). Mostly because its just not something I would use much, and for the price..for me personally, I don’t think it’s worth it. I’m sure this would work great on someone who maybe needs a little more texture without using a stiff spray.
