Salt Dough Ornaments
These are so much fun to make with the kids and you can even color them with food coloring!
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup salt
- 1 1/2 cup warm water
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Mix flour and salt, gradually add water and stir, then mix and knead dough with hands.Roll out on floured surface about 1/8 thick and cut with cookie cutters or into desired shapes. You can also separate the dough and add a little food coloring for colored ornaments. Poke a small hole in the top before baking. (we used a drinking straw) Bake at 250 degrees F for 2 hours. Let cool and then they are ready to hang.

We had lots of fun and made handprints, thumbprints, and shapes with Christmas cookie cutters. I even did our littlest ones footprints. I colored some of the dough with red and green food coloring and even mixed the two colors and cut out a few stars with them.
