Sausage Balls (the original) Recipe
It seems there are a million different ways to make sausage balls some add cream cheese, hash browns etc..This is the original Bisquick recipe, and the one I always fall back on. I make these year-round, but I especially like to make them around this time of year.
We always have these Christmas morning while the kids are opening presents. They are super simple to make, and to make it even easier I make them ahead the night before and freeze them. The next morning all I have to do is take them out of the freezer and just pop them in the oven!
1 pound pork sausage
2 cups Bisquick Baking Mix
1 pound shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine sausage, baking mix, and cheese, then mix all ingredients (can use an electric mixer) Form into walnut sized balls and bake 20-25 minutes.
Servings: approx 50 sausage balls
