Is it that time already?
It’s hard to believe it’s about that time again, and we’re already talking about the kids going back to school!I remember when school used to start after Labor Day or at least around the end of August. Around here the schools start back the second week of August which is coming up very shortly!
If you read the blog last week, then I mentioned how we’ve already been doing a little shopping. Today I wanted to share with you some of my top picks for the little ones getting ready to start school.
You may notice that I have several personalized items on the list. I loooved personalized pencils, pens, notepads, etc. growing up. Thankfully I have a common name (Amy), and the items were easy to find, but I remember having several friends with not so common names, which were always out of luck.
Thank goodness we now have the internet, so even if your child has a not so common name, as several of my kids do, then you can still get cute personalized items!

Zipit Monster Pencil Case $7.99
I love this cute little monster pencil pouch from Zipit. It holds approximately 25-30 pens and pencils and features an extra wide zipper. It can also be used for crayons, scissors, markers and more. You can check out their website where they currently have all pencil cases buy one get one 50% off for a limited time. www.zipitstore.com
Mabel’s Labels- Sticky Labels $21.00 for 45 Labels
The waterproof labels from Mabel’s Labels are great for lunch containers, toys, sports equipment, and more. We used several of these on my daughter’s items for Summer school. They stayed on well, and she was able to easily identify her stuff. Not to mention they are super cute! You can read my review and see the ones we ordered here if you’re interested.
Mysteries in Time
I included the Mysteries in Time Subscription Box because like most moms; I believe learning should also happen at home, and not just at school.
Mysteries in Time is a monthly history subscription box for 7-11-year-olds that encourages learning through stories, crafts, and puzzles and more.
Each month features a different historical time featured in a personalized time machine box. Mysteries in Time is based out of the UK, but they also offer worldwide delivery. I think it’s a great way to encourage learning while still having fun! http://www.mysteriesintime.co.uk/
Frecklebox lunch boxes $29.95
The Frecklebox offers several personalized lunch boxes, folders, books, gifts, and more for kids. This lunchbox also features a chalkboard on the inside so you can leave your child special notes. Definitely better than the boring lunch boxes they had when I was growing up! frecklebox.com
Frecklebox folders $4.95
This is another personalized item from Frecklebox. This folder is perfect for your child’s school work, and they feature several designs personalized with your child’s name.
Zipit Soft Shell Backpack $44.99
This soft shell backpack keeps everything safe and protected, and I love the bright colors and design. It also features padded straps for extra comfort and even comes with a lifetime warranty against defects.
These are just a few of my top picks for this school year. I would love to hear what some of your top picks are!
