Tick Tock, Tick Tock – Maximize Your Family Time
Being a mom can sometimes feel like a full-time job. There’s so much cooking, cleaning, laundry, and childcare to see to that you will probably feel like you have very little time to spend with your family. And if you work full-time, your family time will shrink even further. Where are you meant to find enough extra time to see your family? Well, here are some remarkable tips that can help you maximize your family time.
Get The Kids Involved
If you have a long list of chores that need doing, you should see if you can get your kids involved. If you turn some chores into a game, your kids will be a lot more keen to help you out. Just make sure you don’t make them sound like boring, regular chores! Even though you may be working on the housework, this is still a great way to spend time with your kids. You can chat with them as you do your jobs, and they’ll get the chance to let you know what they’ve been doing at school or kindergarten.
Ask Your Employee About Flexitime
Over the past few years, more and more employers have allowed their workers to work for them on a flexi schedule. This is usually called ‘flexitime’. It gives employees the chance to decide on their own work hours and come into the office whenever they want, as long as they always do their weekly contracted hours. It’s worth speaking to your boss to see if this is a possible option for you. You can then plan your hours around your family so that you aren’t working when everyone else is enjoying time off.
Hire Professional Help
Hiring professional help to give you a hand around the house can really help you free up some more time in your schedule. If you ever need to do any DIY at home, it’s a good idea to find some local house maintenance firms rather than wasting time trying to do it yourself. Likewise, hiring a cleaner can also save you a lot of time on the housework. Are you self-employed? You could find that hiring a personal assistant is another way you can cut down your working hours and maximize on your family time.
Schedule One-On-One Time
Ideally, each parent should spend some one-on-one time with each child. The best time to do this is at the weekend when both of you are off from work and school. You will find it’s easy to find one-on-one time if you both share a hobby. If not, you should pencil in a cinema trip or an hour at the park into your diary to make sure you don’t miss your special one-on-one time.
I don’t think families have been quite as busy as they are these days. But, no matter how hectic life gets, you still need to remember to try and maximize your family time. Both you and your children will really benefit from spending quality time together.
