The holidays are the perfect time to give back, and what better way than to donate to a favorite charity in honor of a loved one! There are many different charities and causes to choose from. Here are just a few of my favorites!
1.Emergency Kit for One Family – $40 This kit from Oxfam provides basic necessities for a family facing a disaster such as toothbrushes and toothpaste to mosquito nets. You can send a card letting your loved one know you’ve gifted this item in honour of them by making the donation and then you can either choose to have a card mailed on your behalf, print your own, or send an e-card via email.
2.Donut Rattle from the little market – $12 This adorable handmade rattle is perfect for the little ones on your list. Each purchase also supports Pebble artisans in Bangladesh.
3.Oxfam $10 & Up. Help to create peace this holiday season by donating in someone’s honor. Oxfam has many different donations and price ranges to choose from and you can send a card in the mail, an email or even print the card letting the person know what was donated in their honor. You can send emergency soap to families in need for as little as $20, help start a farmers market for $25 or even send a donation to purchase a pig or sheep.
4. Purivida FRIENDSHIP PACK (10 BRACELETS) $45 Puravida is founded in Costa Rica and provides sustainable jobs to artisans worldwide while donating to various charities. They have a subscription club where you can receive 3 bracelets monthly for $14.95 or you can choose bracelets to purchase separately.
