I just love good smelling bath and body products! I’m the type of person, that when I go into one of those “bath and body” stores, that I have to smell and try out every tester!
As a mom of little ones, as I’m sure many can relate, I look forward to my time alone when I can finally take a long shower or a long relaxing bath. Anything that smells good and helps me to relax a little, including bath bombs, sugar scrubs, scented body wash, body butters, and lotion, you name it!
Several years ago, I started making a few of my own bath and body products. I was surprised how easy some products can be made, some using items already around the house!
I decided to make this Gingerbread Body Scrub to give out to a few people this Christmas, and it turned out sooo good!
This recipe made enough for two 8 oz mason jars and 2 4 oz baby food jars. I had saved several baby food jars from when my daughter was on baby food about a year ago. I just knew they would come in handy for something at some point! If you don’t have baby food jars, you can also just use another 8 oz mason jar. I thought the baby food sized jars made cute little stocking stuffer like gifts, perfect for friends or the neighbor.
The scrub turned out so good; I had to keep one for myself! It gently exfoliates, and the coconut and jojoba oil left my skin feeling baby soft, not to mention it smells ahhh…mazing, just like Gingerbread!
Gingerbread Sugar Scrub
Easy DIY Gingerbread Sugar Scrub. Great for gift giving!
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 1 tbsp allspice
- 1 tbsp jojoba oil (if you don't have jojaba oil, you can use vitamin E, almond oil or even olive oil.)
Instructions

Place all ingredients in medium-sized bowl and mix together. (can use a hand mixer or stand mixer if you want the scrub a finer texture.)

Store in air tight container or mason jars for gift giving.
Should last 2-3 months.

I used regular printer paper for the labels because that’s what I had on hand. I think they still turned out pretty good, but they may turn out even better with sticker paper, like Avery Shipping Labels.
