How To Make Decorative Yarn Balls

I recently bought a bag of yarn on Amazon. I had no idea what specifically we would use it for, but I’m always on the lookout for craft supplies, and try to snatch them up when I find a good deal.
Once the bag of yarn came in, I looked at my other craft supplies, and also had balloons and glue….so of course, we decided to make decorative yarn balls! (you can also use the same steps and make these with twine)
It was an easy project, although a little messy with a 2, 3, and 7 year old, but I thought they turned out cute!
What I really love about these cute yarn balls is you can make them in any color. You can also use colors for a Fall theme, the holidays, or even to match your own decor. They are really cute in a basket, displayed on a shelf, or even in apothecary jars.
I have to admit I did have a few mishaps when making these. I made one of the balloons too big and didn’t use enough yarn so it wasn’t very sturdy, and I also got a little impatient and popped one of the balloons before the glue was all dry.
If you are making these I recommend blowing up the balloons no bigger than the size of a grapefruit and make sure they are thoroughly dry before you pop the balloon. I sat ours out to dry on our screened in patio and it was fairly humid so it took almost 3 days to fully dry.
