Birchbox September 2015
(MALIN+GOETZ) grapefruit face cleanser
This product uses natural grapefruit extract with an amino base. It is supposed to remove makeup including eye makeup. I found this cleanser to be gentle, but a little drying for my skin. It did however remove my makeup well, including my eye makeup.
(MALIN+GOETZ) vitamin e face moisturizer
This moisturizer is oil free and contains vitamin E. This left my skin feeling hydrated, without a sticky residue. It is really light and non greasy and great for day to day use.
ModelCo Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick
I receive this lipstick in Stilleto. This is suppose to be highly pigmented and long lasting. I have to be completely honest here..First of all it is red, and I’m just too chicken to pull off this bright of a red for any occasion. I know plenty of people that can, I am just not one of them. Second I’m just not a fan of most long lasting lipsticks. They seem to make my lips feel dry. It has a 4/5 star review on birchbox website though, and most people seemed to comment that it had great staying power. If you buy this it comes in a trio. The other two colors look like something I might occasionally wear.
PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain Moisturizing & Repairing Shampoo
I love the smell of this, however I did not find it super moisturizing as it states. It also doesn’t lather well, so it seemed to take quite a bit of product for my medium length hair.
PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain Moisturizing & Repairing Conditioner
Again, I love the smell of this, it just wasn’t very moisturizing enough for my dry hair. I would say the shampoo and conditioner is better suited for normal or not heavily chemically processed hair, that needs a light weight conditioner.
Helmut Lang Cuiron
This is suppose to be a modern spin on a classic leather scent. I love the smell of this. It has a little bit of a masculine or unisex smell to it. It has a woodsy type smell and had excellent staying power. It also isn’t too strong smelling. I really like this and usually do not mind spending a little more for a great fragrance, however this retails for $165.00, and I’m just not in love with it THAT much.
TOCCA Esfoliante da Corpo – Nourishing Body Scrub
This is a sugar based formula that also contains crushed olive granules. I’ve used this several times now. It gently exfoliates, without being harsh or abrasive, and left my skin super moisturized. It also smells amazing! This would probably be my favorite product from this months box!
As usual there are some things I liked this month, and some things I didn’t, but that is part of the fun. I still feel Birchbox is definitely worth the $10.00 spent each month! It’s a great way to try new products.
Birchbox also has a great deal this month if you sign up before October 9th. You can receive your first box for only $5 using Code BB50FF with this referral link http://fbuy.me/cKpEd
