DIY Gingerbread Candle with Free Labels
I absolutely love the scent of gingerbread. Last year I made gingerbread scented body scrub and body lotion to give as gifts and it was a huge hit.
This year I decided to make DIY gingerbread wood wick candles. I use to buy wood wick candles because I love the soft crackling noise they make although they are a little on the pricey side. This year with wood wicks I bought on Amazon and a few other products I decided to make my own!
If you would rather use a traditional candle wick feel free to do so using the same method. You can also substitute the scent for another if gingerbread isn’t your thing.
The recipe below makes enough for approximately 2- 4 oz candles or one 8 oz jar but you could easily double the recipe for gift giving if you like.
Be sure to print the free printable labels and gift tags at the bottom of the post!
Supplies:
Soy Candle Wax ( I use this)
Gingerbread Fragrance Oil ( I use the one in this set)
Wood Wicks ( I use this) or you can use natural candle wicks (here)
4 or 8 oz Mason Jars ( I use this) or metal containers (here)
Medium sized microwave safe bowl
measuring cup
wooden spoon
Printable Labels (optional)
Start by gathering your supplies including 2 cups of soy wax, gingerbread fragrance oil, and containers. You can go ahead and glue your candle wick into your container at this time too. I used a dab of hot glue on the bottom of the wick to help hold it in place.
Melt the wax in the microwave in 30-45 second intervals until melted. Let cool slightly, and add in the gingerbread fragrance oil.
Pour slowly into your containers and let sit for 24 hours. After 24 hours trim the wick to 1/4 inch. If giving as a gift, print the labels and gift tags. (optional)
Gingerbread Wood Wick Candle
Easy melt and pour soy-based gingerbread candle with wood wicks. Great for gift giving!
Ingredients
- 2 cups soy candle wax flakes
- 40-50 drops gingerbread scented oil

Instructions
-
Begin by placing newspaper down for any spills. Hot glue or use stickers to place your wicks in the center of the jars you are using and set aside.

Allow the wax to cool slightly and add in the gingerbread scented oil.

Slowly pour your scented wax into the glass containers.
-
Let the candles sit for 24 hours without disturbing.
