Orange & Cranberry Garland
If you’re looking for simple and nostalgic decorations for the holidays, then this orange and cranberry garland is the perfect fit!
You simply use a sewing needle and thread and string together dried oranges and cranberries. It’s really that easy!
It looks great hung from the mantel or you can even make several strands to hang on the Christmas tree.
I just love the look of the of the brightly colored oranges and cranberries. It also provides a nice clean citrus scent which works as a natural air freshener for the home.
Besides oranges and cranberries, you could also string together popcorn, cinnamon sticks, or even tie in some fresh rosemary. The possibilities really are endless!
Now for how to make the bright colored, scented, full of joy garland!
You Will Need
4-5 oranges
1 bag of fresh cranberries (12 oz)
Bakers twine or Jute Twine
Cookie sheet
Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
1. Start by preheating your oven to 220 degrees and slice your oranges about 1/2 inch thick.
2. Place the oranges onto parchment paper or a silicone mat on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 3 hours.
Check every hour to make sure they aren’t turning brown. They are done when they are dried and translucent in color.
3. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.

Ingredients
- 4-5 oranges sliced 1/2 inch thick
- 1 12 oz bag cranberries
Instructions

Slice the oranges into 1/2 inch slices and lay on parchment paper on a baking sheet. Bake at 220 degrees for 3 hours. Check every hour to make sure they aren't turning brown. They oranges are done once they are dry and translucent in color.

Let the oranges cool to room temperature.

Thread your needle with bakers twine or jute twine and thread through the top part of the orange then thread in your cranberries.
I used the pattern of six cranberries to one orange, but you can use any pattern you like. You can also make the strand as short or as long as you need.

Hang the garland on your mantel, Christmas tree, or over a window. Wherever makes you happy!
