I love using the Cricut Explore Air 2 to make seasonal decor and other fun items!
While I don’t decorate for Valentine’s day as much as I do for other holidays, I thought a cute but simple throw pillow on the couch was just the right touch.
If you’re thinking about purchasing a Cricut machine be sure to check out my Cricut Explore Air 2 Review and my review on the Cricut EasyPress 2.
Quick note: while I am calling this a Valentine’s Day pillow, I think it would be cute to use year-round depending on your decor!
Here’s What You Will Need to make the pillow
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Cricut Design Space (design found here)
- Cricut Iron-On Vinyl (I used everyday iron-on red)
- pillow 12″ x 20″ ( I used this one)
- pillow cover (I used this one)
- Cricut EasyPress 2 or iron
- Cricut Basic Tool Set
- Gather your materials
- Go to Cricut Design Space (design found here) and pull up the design
- Using a standard grip mat, place your Iron-On vinyl shiny side down on the mat and load into the machine.
- Set the dial on the Cricut Explore Air 2 to Iron-On
- Make sure to click the “mirror image” button on design space.
- Cut your design and weed out the excess vinyl with your weeding tool.
- If you are using the Cricut Heat Press, now is a good time to plug it in and warm it up. Set the temperature to 315° for 30 seconds.
- Once the heat press is warmed up, do a quick swipe over the pillowcase with the heat press to ensure the design adheres well.
- Measure and center the design on the pillow.
- Place the design on the pillow and cover with the heat press for 30 seconds.
- Allow the design to cool and gently lift the baking from the design.
