The Best Way to Wash Your Fruits and Vegetables

This year we decided to plant a small garden. In the past, I’ve had small container gardens, or have grown a few tomato plants, but never a full garden.
I figured planting and taking care of a garden would be a great activity to share with the kids, especially with all the boredom from covid19 lockdown. Not to mention, we would have fresh veggies to pick in our own yard!
Our garden is not huge by any means, but has a variety of tomato’s, carrots, bell peppers, yellow squash, cucumbers, watermelon, green beans, peas, and onions.
So far the only plant we haven’t had much luck with are the peas, and we are still waiting excitedly to pick our first watermelon!
I have to say, the garden this year has been a fun project. Next year we might even try a bigger garden!
While I love having fresh veggies, I always remember to clean them really well after I pick them from the garden.
Of course it’s also important to clean fruits and vegetables you buy from the grocery store too! Some even more so, because they can contain pesticides and residue.
The easiest way I’ve found to clean both the veggies from our garden and the fruits and vegetables from the store, is to use Fruit & Vegetable Wash by Arm & Hammer.
The Arm & Hammer vegetable wash cleans four times better than water alone, and is free of harsh chemicals, doesn’t have an odor or leave a weird taste on your produce, and it’s also gluten-free and vegan!
The vegetable wash is also simple to use. You just spray your produce with the fruit and vegetable wash, rub gently and then rinse. I love that it contains simple but effective ingredients like baking soda, salt, and lemon oil, and I feel safer feeding my family fruits and veggies that have been properly cleaned.
