Sure, you remember to wipe the counters, dust, and mop the floors, but there are probably a few places you are forgetting to clean.
1. Air Vents
Cleaning air vents will not only make them look better, but it can also help reduce allergens.
First you want to make sure you are changing the filter monthly.
Next, to clean the vents, you will want to turn off the air or heat to prevent dust and dirt from flying everywhere.
Then you can use a vacuume with the brush attachment, or a microfiber cloth to wipe the vent clean.
for small vent covers you can remove them and soak in a small amount of soapy water and lightly scrub clean. Just make sure the covers are completely dry before you re-install them.
2. Garbage Disposal
The easiest way to clean your disposal is with Arm & Hammer Garbage Disposal Cleaner. They are small dissovable capsules that contain baking soda and leave a fresh citrus scent.
To use the cleaner, you simply run your disposal with a full stream of water for one minute.
Next turn off the disposal and drop a capsule into the disposal, turn the water on and the disposal.
Then just turn the water and disposal off as normal. You can revive the fresh citrus scent at anytime just by running warm water.
3.Phones
Cell phones can carry numerous bacteria and viruses. Experts recommend you give your phone a deep cleaning at least twice a week.
You should use a microfiber cleaning cloth to remove any lint and then use a Lysol wipe on the phone screen.
Just be sure to avoid using the Lysol wipe over any ports, and don’t forget to also clean your phone case if you have one!
4. Vacuum Filters
A dirty vacuum filter can decrease the suctioning ability overtime. If you have a washable foam, or plastic filter you can run the filter under warm water and use an old toothbrush to get in the crevices.
If you have a paper filter do not get it wet, use a microfiber cloth to remove any dirt. Once the filter is completely dry, you can place it back in the vacuum.
5. Ear Buds
Dirty earbuds can harbor all kinds of bacteria, and can even lead to ear infections.
Thankfully cleaning your earbuds is easy and takes very little time.
All you need to keep earbuds clean are to wipe them down after each use with an alcohol wipe.
Be sure to let them dry completely before storing in a case.
