3 Must-Haves for a Disney Staycation at Home
Are you itching for that Disneyland trip but can’t go due to current circumstances? Even though Disney World is open, some people are finding that as much as they love the theme park, they aren’t ready to be around crowds. Others may still be waiting for Disneyland in Anaheim to open. Whatever the reason may be that’s stopping you from heading out to a Disney theme park near you, try turning your own home into a Disney staycation for yourself or for your little ones. Here are a few must-haves to add some Disney magic to your home.
Souvenirs
One of the most popular souvenirs from the Disney theme parks are, of course, the famous Mickey and Minnie ears. They are sold throughout the parks and hundreds of people walk around Disney sporting their favorite pair of ears. You may have some from your last visit. However, it’s time for an upgrade! What better way to start your Disney staycation at home than with a new pair of mickey ears at Presley Couture. Not only are they budget-friendly, they’re made in your favorite Disney movie themes. Whether it’s Toy Story or Star Wars, you’ll love the selection of ears for the whole family.
T-shirts are another popular souvenir. You can find t-shirts to go along with those cute mouse ears from the Disney store online. Or create your own at places such as Etsy. How exciting would it be if your little one woke up to their own custom top and ears to begin the Disney weekend at home?
Snacks
What are your favorite snacks when walking around the theme park? Is it the giant turkey legs? The yummy Dole whip? The buttery popcorn? The caramel apples? Author, choose three–cut one. Whatever your favorites are, be sure to include those in your staycation. Whether you make them yourself, or order them online ahead of time, these are a must to bring your favorite tastes and smells back as if you were at Disneyland. Feel free to order more than a few since you’ll be at home all day, or all weekend. You can snack on different treats throughout the day and maybe even while you binge on Disney movies as a family.
Entertainment
One of the best things about being at the theme park is the parades. They capture our attention no matter how old we may be. YouTube has a few Disneyland and Disney World parades that have been filmed and uploaded so we can watch them at home. While it’s obvious to also incorporate watching your favorite Disney movies, try to watch a few of these parades at home. If you enjoy the shows put on at the park, you can watch those on your big screen, too. It’s almost like you are there. Between movies, parades, and theme park shows, you’ll be entertained for hours. At some point, you’ll want to take a break. Make sure you have Disney music playing just like they do at the park.
If you’re one of those people who enjoys the videos posted of people on the rides, this may be another idea to enjoy together as a family, especially if you can watch it on a big screen. Although you can’t physically be on the ride, you can live through the person on the video.
Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and get creative. Whatever brings the family together, and makes you feel a little magic, is always going to be a great time.
