6 Beanie Baby Plushies to Keep an Eye On
Did you know there are over 90 different varieties of beanie babies? Since their inception in the eighties and popularity in the nineties, a huge collectors market has emerged. But which ones are the cutest?
While everyone has a favorite, some can just not be overlooked. We present our pick of the cutest beanie baby plushies and models.
1. Flip the Cat
Flip the Cat has to be a contender for the cutest of all beanie babies. This little white kitten with a pink nose comes with his paw playfully raised. She was one of the most popular toys of the nineties that emerged from the original beanie baby craze.
Flip shares the same fabric as many other beanie baby toys of the time, such as Peking and Spot. She had a short shelf life, being in production from January 1996 to October 1997.
2. Fleece
No beanie baby is as cuddly and soft as fleece. This little lamb shares a similar color scheme to Flip, with a white body along with a pink face and stitching. However, her fur is bobbly and wool-like, ideal for a quick hug.
3. Batty
Bats are not something many people associate with being cute. Usually associated with darkness and horror, Batty’s gruff face only adds to this mystique. However, instead of making him look scary, he looks adorable.
Batty actually comes in a range of finishes. From light to dark brown and black, he even has a wild tye-dyed version.
4. Tiptoe the Mouse
This stuffed mouse actually looks surprisingly realistic. The Tiptoe beanie baby was released towards the end of the nineties and is one of the most popular toys. His silky, grey, and brown speckled body and black thread whiskers could easily have you thinking your home had intruders.
Despite its popularity, Tiptoe was only available for one year. Released in April, he had scurried off the shelves by October of 1999.
5. Inch the Inchworm
Unimaginatively named he might be, but Inch definitely is one of the more striking stuffed animals in the range. It must have been hard attracting people to a beanie baby based on a caterpillar larva. However, by adding bold rainbow coloring he became one of the most memorable in the line.
Inch was actually one of a select group that was available at Mcdonald’s. Found with their happy meals, these teenie beanie babies were much smaller than their toy store counterparts.
6. Neon the Seahorse
Neon was another of the stuffed toys that used an eye-catching color scheme. Adorned in a glistening rainbow color scheme, Neon was anything but her namesake. She was available on shelves for just one year.
