Christmas Crack

Sweet, Salty, and Crunchy. Perfect for the holidays!

Ingredients

  • 20-25 Saltine Crackers
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking pan or sheet with aluminum foil.

  2. Line the crackers up side by side on the baking sheet.

  3. In a medium-sized saucepan melt the brown sugar, butter over medium heat stirring frequently until butter is melted. Let the mixture come to a rolling boil for 3 minutes stirring frequently.

  4. Carefully remove the saucepan from the stove and add in vanilla extract and stir.

  5. Pour the caramel glaze over the crackers and spread to fully cover all the crackers. Bake in the oven for 5 minutes.

  6. While the crackers are in the oven melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave in 30 second intervals until completely melted.

  7. Carefully remove the crackers from the oven. Pour the melted chocolate chips over the crackers and smooth until all the crackers are covered. Top with crushed pretzels, sprinkles, or coconut. (can also leave plain)

  8. Let cool to room temperature and then place in the freezer for approximately 1 hour or until hardened.

  9. Remove from the freezer and cut or break into pieces and enjoy!
