DIY Jelly Bean Jewelry
With Easter coming up, the girls and I made easy and fun jelly bean jewelry!
We sorted the jelly beans by color, and then the kids helped pick out patterns for each one. Then we counted the different colors of jelly beans, so it was also a great learning opportunity! I thought they turned out really cute and the kids loved them!
Did I mention they are super easy to make? The hardest part for me was trying to thread the needle!
Supplies:
Jelly Beans ( we used 3 bags 11 oz each, and made four necklaces and two bracelets, but it will depend on the length of the necklace and how many you want to make)
Sewing thread (could also use jewelry cord)
Sewing Needle
- Start by separating the jelly beans into colors and picking out what pattern of colors you want to use.
- Next, thread your needle and jab the needle through the center of the jelly bean. Watch your fingers! The first couple may seem a little tricky, but after a few, it’s easy peasy! The needle also gets a little sticky so it helps to have a towel nearby to wipe it off.
- Continue all around the necklace or bracelet and then tie the end. It’s that easy!
I had so much fun making them, I even made one for myself! Such a fun way to celebrate Easter, and they are edible! Just use extra caution due to choking hazard with younger kids.
