Daily Summer Schedule For Kids – Free Printable
My kids at home are now 7, almost 4 and 2. I plan on having lots of fun with them this summer and soaking up every little bit of precious time with them! Of course, I’m sure there will also be major tantrums and fits to deal with along the way too!
While my main goal is to let them have fun and enjoy the Summer, I still want them to have some structure. Most kids actually crave structure and a schedule is a perfect way to do that!
- It helps them know what to expect and instills a sense of accomplishment.
- Understand time management
- Gives a sense of security
- Helps teach independence and responsibility
I made our Summer schedule in a written format since my 7 year old can read and get used to that format, and I made a schedule with pictures for recognization for my 2 and 4-year-old. Feel free to print either one or both!

Summer Kids Schedule with Words
As you can see, this summer schedule is pretty basic but I did allow for learning and activity time and of course, there will be small learning and teaching moments throughout the day. It could be something as simple as reading with them, making slime, painting, baking together, or other activities.
(You can check the DIY/Craft Index for a few ideas or 50+ Free Activities for Kids and there are lots of great activities on my Activities for Kids Pinterest Board)
I purposely made this schedule on the light side, since a strict schedule doesn’t seem to work well for us and with it being Summertime things can change fast! I wanted to create more of a routine for them, so they can learn responsibility and still have fun!
This is also just the schedule for the day, after 3:15 they will be able to have free time and play until dinner and then baths, pajamas, brush teeth, story time, and bed.
This schedule also isn’t set in stone as some days we will be away from the house or have other plans, but I think it’s a great way to help them structure their day!
