If you would have told me 5 years ago I would be making my own body wash I probably would have laughed. Back then you couldn’t get me out of bath and body stores at the mall!
Thank goodness things have changed! Don’t get me wrong, I still use some commercial products, but I love making my own products and feel much safer knowing exactly what’s in them.
This DIY lavender honey body wash has a nice creamy texture and doesn’t feel sticky at all like you might think. It makes a nice lather and leaves my skin silky smooth, not to mention the calming aroma of lavender..my favorite!
If you haven’t made your own body wash before, you seriously have to try this one out! It also makes a great gift and you can even print the free labels below!
Did I mention, it also only takes 5 ingredients? (click on the links below to find out where to purchase)
Benefits
Honey: Antioxidant which can help protect your skin from free radicals, antimicrobial and can help with blemishes, helps retain moisture into the skin. * I used regular organic raw honey found at my local store, but local honey is best if you can find it.
Castile Soap: Plant-based, provides a nice lather, and you can use unscented or your favorite scented version. * I used Dr. Jacobs Almond Honey, but you can use any brand Castille soap and use either an unscented version or Almond Honey.
Almond Oil– (found here) Helps skin retain moisture, and works great for dry skin.
Vegetable Glycerine – (found here) A powerful humectant that keeps skin hydrated
Lavender Essential Oil– (found here) by far one of my favorite oils and know for its relaxation properties. It can also help soothe minor skin irritations such as razor burn.
As you can see it’s no wonder I love this moisturizing body wash that’s actually good for your skin, and I’m sure you will too!
*You will also need a 6 oz bottle (found here). If you want to make a few extra to give as a gift, you can easily double or even triple the recipe.
