STEM learning which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, has become increasingly popular over the years, and for good reason!
STEM learning encourages critical thinking, encourages innovation and most kids find it as a fun way to learn.
Here are 5 ways you can encourage STEM Learning at Home
All three of my younger kids love the magnetic blocks from MEIGO
My 4-year-old who is on the autism spectrum loves matching the magnetic shapes by colors, and my 3-year-old loves building houses and other dimensional shapes with her older sister.
These magnetic blocks are great for hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and provides hours of fun learning!

2. Counting Cups and Sorting
Counting paper or plastic cups and sorting them is a great and inexpensive way for toddlers and preschoolers to learn basic math concepts.
3. Building with Playdough
Playdough you make at home like this lime scented playdough is not only fun but educational. Kids can learn how the different ingredients react to make playdough and then enjoy hours of building and sculpting fun!
There are also many free educational worksheets you can find online to use with the playdough for math and science education.
4. Learn Basic Coding
Kids can learn basic coding and sequencing skills with the Fisher Price Think & Learn Code-a-Pillar Toy
Kids can program a path for the code a pillar and watch the fun begin! This toy provides hands-on learning while also teaching critical thinking skills.
5. Make Slime
Making slime might not seem like it would be a STEM activity at first, but it is! When you make slime it includes an activator which changes the position of molecules called cross-linking.
You can also experiment with the viscosity and make different types of slime like this DIY Crunchy Slime! It’s a great hands-on learning activity that most kids love!
