A few weeks ago I shared with you my review and how much I loved my new Cricut Explore Air 2 machine! I also made this cute, but simple Rae Dunn inspired Halloween mugs.
Now that Halloween is over, my mind is swirling with all the Christmas decor, cards, and Christmas gifts I can make with the Cricut machine and Cricut easy press!
However, today I thought I would share my review of the Cricut Easy Press and how to use it.
The Cricut Easy Press comes in 4 different sizes depending on your needs. It is a machine that allows you to press heat transfers onto t-shirts and other items. You can create and design your own creative vinyl designs using any of the Cricut cutting machines and design space or use pre-purchased vinyl designs.
Here are just a few things you can make with the Cricut Easy Press 2
- Vinyl Transfer T-shirts
- Vinyl Transfer Onseis
- Vinyl Transfer Hats
- Vinyl Transfer Totes
- Vinyl Coasters
- Vinyl Banners
- Vinyl Transfer on Wood
The size I own is the 12″ x 10″ which is the perfect size for t-shirts. I also have the 20″ x 16″ Easy Press Mat that helps protect the surface I’m using and helps ensure a smoother application.
How to Use the Cricut Easy Press 2
To use the Cricut Easy Press 2 you simply plug in the machine and set the time and temperature.
For the sample project that was included with the machine, I simply set the temperature to 145 degrees and the timer to 30 seconds.
Next, I pressed the machine without the vinyl on top to smooth out any wrinkles on the tote bag.
After that I placed my vinyl into the center of the tote bag and held down the press for the desired amount of time, which happened to be 30 seconds for this project.
After the vinyl had cooled slightly, but while it was still hot, I removed the plastic from the vinyl.
The vinyl was smooth and even on the tote bag.
What I love about the Cricut Easy Press 2 is that is really easy to use! It takes the guesswork out of what temperature and how long to leave the vinyl on.
I also like that the plates heat up evenly for a smooth application, and that it also includes an automatic safety shutoff after 10 minutes.
Stay tuned to the blog in the next week or so! I have some t-shirts planned using the easy press and explore 2, as well as a few Christmas items planned!
In the meantime, you can also read my review on the Cricut Explore Air 2 and see how I made my first project using design space here.
