Fun Activities for Kids Which Will Keep Them Entertained for Hours
We are mostly stuck at home these days due to our safety concerns. However, it can really get boring and frustrating when there is nothing to do, especially if your kids start crying and complaining about the boredom they have to bear with. Keeping kids entertained is easier than you think! Just grab some crayons, glitter, and paint and let them show their creative side.
Kids find these activities very fun and are also extremely easy. DIY can be done with everyday items that you don’t even use and are lying around the house.
The fun thing about DIY is that the kids can even do them with a little help from others. While they need you to be with them and you have to run to a grocery store or a pharmacy to get a refill of a prescription, you can always order your groceries from an online store and medications through a trusted PricePro online pharmacy. Isn’t life much easier compared to a decade ago? Everything can be delivered to your doorsteps without you even getting up.
It would be best if you had a bit of inspiration to get the ideas flowing. What’s that you hear? It’s probably the sound of laughter and concentration, and certainly not a kid yelling, “I’m bored!” from the other side of the house. Keeping your child busy is good for the both of you.
Let’s begin with some cool DIY ideas to keep your kid busy!
DIY Jellyfish
For making the denizens of the deep, all you need is some paper plates and yarn. Stick the yarn onto the paper plates and color it with some glow-in-the-dark acrylic paint so that you can see their “bioluminescence.” Also, seeing it glowing in the dark will make the kids more excited too. ( in order to see the magic of the glow-in-dark paints, you need to switch off the lights, which can also save you some electricity bill *wink wink*)
DIY Tissue Box Monsters
Every household has dozens of empty tissue boxes lying around the house. Use the empty tissue boxes for an art project and when done, utilize them by playing games such as “feed the monster.” Paint the box and put on some googly eyes to make it look silly and scary at the same time. Cut out some charts in rectangular pieces to make it look like the monster’s ears. Let your kid paint it in any color he/she wishes to.
Moreover, if you have some pompoms or marshmallows lying around, use that as feed for the monster. Toss it into the monster’s mouth, and whoever manages to put more marshmallows/pompoms into its mouth within 60 seconds wins!
DIY Paper Planes
Every parent knows how to make a paper plane. All you need is some squared out paper and a few folds. Let your kid throw their paper planes around and feel like a pilot.
DIY Thumbprint Family Tree
A Thumbprint family tree is a very fun activity. Furthermore, the best part about this activity is that the parent gets to participate as well. Let your kid use their finger/thumbprints, and you tell them the names, etc. To add more fun to the activity, you can have your kid color it in different colors.
