DIY Tin Can Wind Chimes
Last weekend I was looking for something fun to do with the kids and I didn’t really want to leave the house or spend a lot of money. I started looking around the house and in my craft box and got out the glitter, acrylic paint, some twine and packing tape. I also had a few tin cans that I had washed and cleaned out so I came up with the idea for these DIY Tin Can Wind Chimes.
The kids had a blast making them and we had glitter everywhere! My 2-year-old, 4-year-old, 7-year-old and even I painted a can for the wind chimes. It was a group effort, and I think they turned out pretty cute! They now proudly hang on a hook off of our back deck.
And while I don’t have step by step pictures of the process I do have easy instructions below. If you plan on making these with your littles it is super easy and the kids will love it! It would also make a super cute gift for the grandparents!
You will need
5-7 various tin cans
a sturdy branch from the backyard
twine
hammer and nail or drill to screw a hole in the bottom of the tin cans
acrylic paint
packing or duck tape to wrap around the top of the tin can to prevent from accidental cuts
