Baked Pumpkin Seeds
Scroll down to find the yummy recipe for the baked pumpkin seeds!
We recently carved pumpkins with the kids for Halloween, and had tons of delicious yummy pumpkin seeds just waiting to be baked!
We actually had so many that I decided to make two different versions.
I made a sweet and crunchy version made with Vanilla and Brown Sugar Pumpkin Seeds and this more traditional savory and crunchy version below.
It’s hard to pick a favorite between the sweet and salty version. They both turned out so yummy!
I find myself going back and forth and grabbing handfuls of both kinds.
The only difference I’ve found is that the traditional baked pumpkin recipe below has slightly more crunch to it.
You Will Need:
2 cups of pumpkin seeds
Baking sheet or silicone baking mat
Worcestershire Sauce
Salt
If you are using fresh pumpkin, you will first need to scoop the pumpkin and pull all the pulp away from the seeds.
I like to do this over a colander to minimize the mess.
Then you just spread the seeds on a baking sheet or silicone mat to dry out overnight.
If you’re in a hurry you can skip this step, but I found they get crispier if they have a little time to dry out before baking.
It’s okay if there is still a little bit of pulp mixed in with the seeds.
In a medium sized bowl mix together 2 cups pumpkin seeds, 2 Tbsp melted butter, 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, and 1/4 tsp salt.
Toss the seeds until well coated, then place on a baking sheet and bake for 1 hour at 275 degrees.
