Sleepytime Balm

Relaxing, all natural balm to apply before bed for a peaceful nights sleep.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 2 Tbsp almond oil (can use other carrier oil)
  • 2 Tbsp beeswax
  • 15-20 drops lavender or a mixture of lavender and cedarwood essential oil

Instructions

  1. In a medium sized microwave safe bowl, mix all of the ingredients except for the essential oils. If you are using beeswax pellets you can put them in the bowl as they are. If you are using beeswax sticks you will need to grate them first.

  2. Microwave the ingredients until thoroughly melted in 20-second intervals. Note: the beeswax will take a little longer to melt all the way.

  3. Remove from microwave and add in essential oils.

  4. Pour the mixture into a 4 oz container or two 2 oz containers

  5. Let the mixture completely solidify for up to an hour. If you are in a particularly humid area, you can also put them in the freezer to harden.

  6. Store in a cool, dark area away from moisture in a container with a lid. The balm should last 1-2 years if kept out of heat and away from moisture.

  7. To Use: Apply a small amount behind ears, on temple area, and wrists before going to sleep. Can also use throughout the day for tension relief.
