Cook Time 6 hours

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs apples ( I used red delicious)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Peel and core the apples and then slice them into wedges.

  2. Place the apples in the bottom of the crockpot and then add the brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and ground cloves. Stir to coat the apples.

  3. Cook on high 3-4 hours or until apples are soft. Stir occasionally.

  4. Add the apples to a blender and blend until smooth.

  5. Place the blended apples back in the crockpot with the top off and allow to thicken 2-3 more hours stirring occasionally.  If it isn't as thick as you like after 2-3 hours, you can leave it longer until it reaches the desired consistency you like.

  6. Store in airtight containers and refrigerate. Use within 2-3 weeks.

  7. Makes enough for 4 (4oz) containers or 2 (8 oz) jars
