No-Cook Lemon Scented Playdough
No-Cook Lemon Scented Playdough
My kids absolutely love playing with playdough! We use to buy playdough at the store, but found it’s just as easy to make it at home.
What’s even better is, you can make it any color you want and even scent it with essential oils. We’ve also made Lavender playdough, chocolate, gingerbread and pumpkin spice playdough in the past.
I love making playdough to go along with the different seasons for the kids to play with. I’m not going to lie, I even like to play with it with them!
I thought this lemon-scented playdough would be perfect for Summer and it smells soooo good!
The best thing about this lemon-scented playdough is that it’s a no-cook version, and can be made in about 5 minutes!
It’s perfect for those days when the kids are bored and need something fun to do, and since it only requires flour, salt, cream of tartar, water, food coloring you probably already have the items at the house!

Quick tip: Make sure to store the playdough in airtight containers it should last several months this way. I’ve noticed since making playdough, sometimes it is affected by the humidity.
We’ve had some playdough dry out faster than others. When this happens, I usually just add a drop of oil to it. After time, if it starts to get a little slimy or sticky, I just add a little more flour to it and work it in.
We’ve always been able to keep playdough for 3-4 months this way. I’ve also heard of others keeping it in the refrigerator although, I ‘ve never tried that.
