Slow Cooker Green Beans & Potatoes
This slow cooker green bean and potato recipe could almost be a meal by itself. Just add some cornbread and fresh tomatoes….Yum! Yum!
I photographed the green beans on a plate, but more often than not, you will find me eating them in a big bowl…they are that good! It’s a close tie between the Mississippi Green Beans and this recipe to which one is my favorite!
Green beans are probably one of my favorite vegetables. They are so versatile and such an easy side dish that goes along with almost anything.

Slow Cooker Green Beans & Potatoes
Southern style fresh green beans and potatoes made in the crockpot.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
- 6 pieces bacon cooked until crispy and crumbled
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cups new potatoes, quartered
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 3 TBS butter
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Place fresh green beans in the crockpot

add cooked bacon, onion, new potatoes, chicken broth, and place butter on top. Salt and pepper to taste.

Cook on LOW for 6 hours.
